About the experience
It is a tour along the international highway that connects us with Chile, visiting towns such as Cacheuta, Potrerillos, Uspallata, Penitentes (ski center), Puente del Inca, and the Aconcagua viewpoint.
Tour highlights
- Potrerillos and Uspallata: Photo stops at the imposing Potrerillos Dam and a drive through the historic Uspallata valley.
- Puente del Inca: Visit to the mysterious natural monument of rock formations and sulfurous hot springs, full of native legends.
- Aconcagua Provincial Park: Short hike to the Horcones Lagoon viewpoint, from where you get the best view of the south face of the “Colossus of America” (the highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere, at 6,960 masl).
Useful information
- Difficulty: Low (mostly a vehicular tour with short hikes).
- Recommendations: Bring warm clothes (even in summer), sunscreen, stay well hydrated to avoid altitude sickness, and bring a camera.
