History and Foundation
Monteviejo was the first winery built within the prestigious “Clos de los Siete” project, conceived by famous French winemaker Michel Rolland in Tunuyán. It was founded in the late 1990s by the late Catherine Péré-Vergé, a passionate French viticulturist and owner of important châteaux in Pomerol. They had their first harvest in 2002, combining French elegance with the exceptional Mendoza terroir.
Architectural Details
The building, designed with clear inspiration from traditional French châteaux but with modern lines, dominates the Vista Flores landscape. It is designed to operate by gravity, minimizing the use of pumps to protect the wine. It features an imposing panoramic terrace that offers one of the most spectacular views of the Uco Valley and the vast field of vineyards.
