Luján de Cuyo

Lagarde Winery
Over a century of family history, century-old vineyards, and haute cuisine awarded with Michelin stars.

History and Foundation

Founded in 1897 by Artillery Captain José Ángel Pereira, Lagarde is one of the oldest and most traditional wineries in Mendoza. In 1969, it was acquired by the Pescarmona family. Today, the winery is under the leadership of Sofía and Lucila Pescarmona, the third generation of the family, who represent a strong example of female leadership in the Argentine wine industry.

Architectural Details

The establishment is a journey back in time. It preserves the classic facade and the charm of late 19th and early 20th-century winery constructions, with its traditional central courtyard, lush trees, and adobe walls. Warm and modernly designed gastronomic spaces have been integrated into this heritage environment, perfectly blending with the vineyard and the organic vegetable garden.

What to expect on a visit?

The experience at Lagarde is a celebration of wine and fine dining. Visitors can stroll among vineyards dating back to 1906, visit the old winery, and enjoy guided tastings. The main modern attraction is its top-level gastronomic proposal: they have the Fogón restaurant (famous for its fire cooking) and the exclusive Zonda restaurant.

Their Wines

Together with winemaker Juan Roby, the winery produces wines of great elegance and balance. They are famous for their DOC (Controlled Denomination of Origin) Malbec and for preserving old vines that yield very limited but highest quality productions. In addition, they have a strong commitment to sustainable and organic practices.
