Kaiken Winery
The perfect fusion between Chilean winemaking experience and the exceptional Mendoza terroir at the foot of the Andes.

History and Foundation

Kaiken was founded in 2002 by Aurelio Montes, a pioneer and undisputed benchmark of the Chilean wine industry (founder of Viña Montes). After multiple trips across the Andes Mountains, Montes recognized Mendoza’s extraordinary potential for viticulture and decided to undertake this project. The name “Kaiken” comes from a Patagonian wild goose that regularly crosses the mountain range between Argentina and Chile, symbolizing the union of both winemaking cultures.

Architectural Details

The winery, located in the Vistalba district, operates in a building originally constructed in 1920. Kaiken restored these historic facilities, modernizing its interior with state-of-the-art technology for crafting premium wines, but preserving the classic architectural lines of the era, surrounded by century-old vineyards that provide an unparalleled visual setting.

What to expect on a visit?

The tourism proposal invites you to enjoy the outdoor landscape. In addition to touring the cellars, where the use of concrete vats and barrels can be observed, visitors often delight in the winery’s gardens. Kaiken stands out for offering relaxed experiences, pairings with excellent gastronomy, and a privileged panoramic view of the Cordón del Plata.

Their Wines

Kaiken produces wines that stand out for their fruit, structure, and elegance, combining the region’s emblematic grape varieties such as Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon with the style and precision brought by Chilean know-how. They have a strong focus on biodynamics and environmental care, ensuring that the terroir is expressed in the most natural way possible.
