History and Foundation
Founded in 1999 by Susana Balbo, a living legend of South American viticulture and the first female winemaker to graduate in Argentina (in 1981). After decades of consulting for national and international wineries, she decided to build her family project in Agrelo. Today, her children, José and Ana Lovaglio Balbo, are a fundamental part of the team, continuing the legacy of innovation.
Architectural Details
The main building is a jewel of winery architecture. Its design is inspired by the shapes of a dismantled wine barrel. The curved structure of the roof and the materials used, such as concrete and stone, give it an avant-garde yet welcoming appearance. The entire property is surrounded by extensive gardens and vineyards.
What to expect on a visit?
The winery offers one of the most complete wine tourism experiences in Mendoza. Visitors can enjoy vineyard safaris, exclusive family tastings, and interactive experiences such as blending games (where tourists create their own wine). In addition, it has two outstanding gastronomic spaces: Osadía de Crear and the Críos tapas bar.
Their Wines
Susana Balbo is known worldwide as the “Queen of Torrontés” for having revolutionized the way this native Argentine white grape is vinified, achieving elegant and complex wines. Her imposing Cabernet Sauvignons and the signature line “Susana Balbo Signature” also stand out.
